Desktop research shows that the Bogodile prospecting area Is located within the southern diamond field that stretches from Taung to Mamusa, Wolmaransstad, Bloemhof and Christiana Diamonds were discovered in this area in the early 20th century. Since that time, more than 2.7 million carats have been recovered. The bulk of these are from outside the Bogodile prospecting area as the Traditional Council was able to protect its resources from outside exploitation.
