Mininng Learnership
BBM, in partnership with the Department of Labour, is implementing a large-scale
mining learnership program aimed at building local skills and preparing youth for
opportunities in the mining sector.
Currently, 800 learners from the Ba Ga Maidi community are enrolled and receiving
accredited training through this initiative.
The learnerships are designed to equip participants with both technical knowledge and
practical experience, laying the foundation for meaningful employment within BBM’s
future mining operations and the broader industry.
This initiative is a key part of BBM’s commitment to skills development, youth
empowerment, and community upliftment—ensuring that local people are not just
bystanders, but active participants and beneûciaries of the region’s mineral wealth.
Agriculture Learnerships
The project aims to drive rural transformation through skills development, food security, youth empowerment, and economic growth. It will provide targeted training for 800 learners in modern farming techniques, financial literacy, and agribusiness management to enhance farmer capacity and promote sustainable practices.
By increasing local agricultural production, the initiative will reduce reliance on costly food imports and strengthen community food security. Furthermore, it will create meaningful opportunities for young people to participate in agriculture through mentorship and entrepreneurship support. The resulting growth in production will stimulate local trade, transportation, and agro-processing, contributing to inclusive economic development and job creation.
