BBM, in strategic partnership with KIH Energy, is advancing a solar energy initiative that
supports our broader mission of sustainable rural development.
As part of the feasibility phase, a weather station has been successfully installed at the
proposed site to monitor and collect solar radiation, temperature, wind speed, and
other key climatic data.
This real-time data collection is critical in determining the
technical and ûnancial viability of establishing a full-scale solar farm. It will also inform
decisions around system
Next Steps
Bogodile Bo Maidi has availed 8000ha to build a 1.5 Gigawatt solar farm that aligns with South Africa’s energy
goals while ensuring local participation, skills transfer, and job creation throughout the
project lifecycle—from construction to ongoing operations.
Construction is due to 2027 start Q2, Once operational the solar
farm will enhance energy resilience, reduce operational costs, and position BBM as a
leader in environmentally responsible rural enterprise.
